And wine gave them the pride and courage they needed to face an uncertain fate. On the nights before battle, far from their families and under the comforting intoxication of the wine, some would carve wooden figures — the knight chess piece being a favorite, symbolizing the first rhythm of the game, the beginning of the battle.

Others imagined unique and powerful creatures to attract good fortune. Hence the seahorse tail on the label — a symbol, in many cultures, of patience, protection, perspective, and persistence...
Values that are essential to produce these wines year after year — battles fought from vineyard to bottle.

In the Middle Ages, monasteries were the centers where art and culture were preserved — literature, painting, music... They were hubs of knowledge. But alongside these arts, the culture of wine was also cultivated and developed. The monks brought great advancements to Western viticulture.

The bond between wine and Christianity is so deep that wine is used in sacred rites:
"The Blood of Christ, which will be shed for you and for all men for the forgiveness of sins."

Wine has the deepest roots in Europe.

Hence, the flute on the label — rooted in the earth, offering a Monastrell red wine to the sun, which, when tasted, will unfold musical notes within its rays.

And that is why, when his time came, the people would proudly carve his image in stone beside that of his horse, laying it to rest, and all the villagers would celebrate the Wine Festival in honor of the great rider, to bid him farewell with dignity.

On the label of this powerful wine, one can feel the joy of the honored figure as he is celebrated with such festivity. This took place back in the 4th century BC, when the Iberian people reigned over the lands of Almansa.

For such a unique legend, no other wine would suffice but this intense, energetic and well-structured Garnacha Tintorera, carefully crafted from each handpicked grape, treasured like gold in barrel and bottle, awaiting the celebration...

It is known that the land where these vines grow is volcanic, with natural springs that provide minerals and ideal nourishment for the cultivation of this fruit. The area has long been recognized for its abundance of rabbits, which built their burrows near the vineyards to feast on the sweet musts — as depicted on the label, represented by a fantastical creature with the head of a rabbit and the body and legs of a bird, emerging from a volcano.

Legend says the rabbits pleaded with the God of the Volcano to grant them four legs instead of bird limbs, so they could run and jump freely in search of food. Nature, in its wisdom, allows us to grow here the typical Tempranillo Machego and a white blend that leaves no one indifferent... Volcanic Wines.

Leyenda de Fuego is a truly unique wine, crafted with care and patience due to its overripe harvest. It is a distinctive wine, full of personality and character — an author’s wine aged for 8 months in barrels, made from a late harvest of old bush vines with naturally overripe grapes.

The Minotaur lights and guards the labyrinth of vines and barrels where the wine rests until it is ready. Every flicker of its torch is magical — just like the complexity in every sip of this Garnacha Tintorera.

Beware! The Minotaur has powers... you might just fall in love with this magnificent limited-edition wine.

“People don’t like it when you have your own faith,” wrote the great Quevedo.

Our "Eternal Legend" also represents the generations of a family who have passed down their knowledge in winemaking, and the eternal vineyards that never tire of offering their fruit.
